Breathe Easy While Discovering the Beauty of Your Nose

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is the surgical procedure for correcting structural deformities of the nose. It involves redesigning the nose by removing excess tissues or correcting insufficiencies to improve overall nasal contour and function. As a board-certified head and neck surgeon and a fellowship-trained facial plastic reconstructive surgeon, one of Dr. Chrzanowski’s primary areas of specialty is rhinoplasty. Dr. Chrzanowski performs both initial rhinoplasties as well as surgeries to correct the previous rhinoplasties performed by other surgeons. His in-depth knowledge of form and function are evident, as he has board certifications in both facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and Otolaryngology—head and neck surgery. Before & After Procedure

The Procedure

Dr. Chrzanowski can perform complex nasal reconstruction and revision rhinoplasty in addition to shortening a long nose, narrowing a wide one, reducing a wide tip, lowering a high nose, or straightening a crooked one. He is trained in both closed and open nasal approaches. To avoid visible scarring, he can place the incision in relatively hidden positions, such as inside the nostril or underneath the nose. Dr Chrzanowski understands that not all noses should look the same. He discusses the desired cosmetic result in detail with his patients and delivers in the goal of an improved aesthetic outcome. Dr. Chrzanowski will sit down with you and discuss your goals for the appearance of your nose, and create a natural looking nose that blends with the features of your face.

The Recovery

Rhinoplasty is usually performed on an outpatient basis. You may be required to wear tape or an external splint for about a week. Recovery from rhinoplasty is quicker than you think. Most of the bruising goes away in the first 10 days. By two weeks, you can resume normal activities. And while swelling can be present for up to a year, most patients feel close to normal several weeks following surgery.

The nose will look relatively normal, and the surgery won't be noticeable. Although most of the swelling will be resolved within the first two weeks following surgery, the final results may not be evident for several months due to the normal healing process.
